The things we create

walking tall or bent prostrate
they just can't equate
to nature

We have our fun
and we have our skills
when the hunt is done

i mean this in both literal and figurative sense
that i can thus do both is no coincidence
for it is every aspect of everything
with my paltry voice now it's for nature i sing

to oaks from seeds, from kingdoms to species
from genes to beings, and that's just the life forms
to which our minds warm
but there's so much more
in the energy storm
since it banged big
and deep within the figures
of the bigger lumps of rock
and metal burning in the pool of sky
and inconceivable space rocked by deep invisible waves
there's answers to questions we don't even know to ask
while evolution steers our brains to stay on task
food sex food sex and the social mask
well today i just want to walk around and bask
in the exquisite beauty of the place we are
far beyond anything i can do with a guitar
